William Cantey October 1, 1947 - August 11, 2022

William was born on October 1, 1947, to the late Samuel and Louise Cantey in Latta, SC. He departed his earthly home, August 11, 2022.

William attended Latimer High School and graduated in 1965. He served 2 years in the US army with an honorable discharge.

He was married to Letha P. Cantey and they resided in Conway, SC.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by 1 brother Samuel Allen Cantey and 1 sister Mary Cantey Smith.

He is remembered in love by his wife Letha Cantey, 2 sons, Marcus Cantey of Conway, SC, Rashad Cade of Florence, SC, 1 stepdaughter Letha Scott Smith (Carlos) of Conway who was his care giver after he became ill. 5 grandchildren Quentin Greene (Latisha) of Chesapeake, VA, Nyra Scott of Greenville, SC, Lecksley Gore (George), Jamiee Scott of Columbia, SC and Kevin Lewis of Conway, SC, 8 greatgrandchildren, 7 siblings brothers: Johnny Lee Cantey of Marion, SC, Larry Cantey of Charlotte, NC, sisters: Julia Lee Billiym of Columbia, SC, Beulah Kay Brantley (Oscar) of Marion, SC, Patsy Mae Watson (Alvin) of Charlotte, NC, Debria Weston (Mark) of MI, and Karen Cantey of Columbia, SC, 8 sisters in law, 6 brothers in law, his very best friend Avery Quick, and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.

William Cantey of Bucksport passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at Ocean View Funeral Home and Beach Crematory, Conway Chapel. There will be a repast following the graveside service at: 8377 Martin Luther Drive, Conway, SC.

John C. Jackson, Sr. October 17, 1943 - August 12, 2022

Mr. John C. Jackson, Sr. of Darlington peacefully transitioned August 12, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center.

The family is receiving friends at 511 Jessamine St., Darlington, S.C.

Celebration of Life for Mr. Jackson will be 11:00AM Thursday, August 18, 2022 at Cherry Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 552 E. Billy Farrow Hwy, Darlington, SC 29532 interment will follow in the church cemetery, Auburn Road, Darlington, SC 29532

Mask are required prior to entrance into the sanctuary.

Public viewing will be 12:00 noon - 6:00PM Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at the funeral home.

Booker T. James August 13, 2022

Booker T. “Nudye” James, 86, of Rimini, South Carolina passed away on August 13, 2022.

Booker was preceded in death by his wife, Rubye Lee James and his parents Simon Lee “Dick” and Henrietta H. James. He is survived by his sister, Delores J. Vaughn, a niece Barbara J. White (Johnny), a nephew Gregory J. Vaughn, MD, and grandniece Staci L. Johnson.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held 4:00PM Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Taw Caw Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1130 Granby Lane, Summerton, SC. Reverend Dr. JoAnn Hilton, officiating, Rev. W.T. Johnson, Pastor, presiding.

Dora Dean Harris February 16, 1964 - August 12, 2022

Louise Elizabeth Sanders January 28, 1935 - August 11, 2022

Mother Louise E. Sanders was 87, and departed this life Thursday August 11, at her home in Marion County.
