** Obituary for Nathaniel Myers

Funeral Service for Mr. Nathaniel "Nat" Myers was conducted Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Bethel Apostolic Church, 1200 North Irby Street, Florence, South Carolina. Interment followed in Florence National Cemetery, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC.

Mr. Nathaniel “Nat” Myers, the son of the late Stephen Myers and Lillie Bell Cain Myers was born April 12, 1946 in Florence County. He went home to be with his Lord and Savoir on Friday, February 5, 2021 at MUSC Florence Health.

Nathaniel was a graduate of Gibbs High School Class of 1966, located in Pamplico, South Carolina.

After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, served in the Vietnam War, received a Purple Heart, and was discharged with an Honorable Discharge.

In 1970, Nathaniel met and married the love of his life, Lawrencenia Samuel Myers.

At an early age, Nathaniel joined Mt. Sinai Holiness Church in Florence, South Carolina and later became a member of Trinity Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Dr. Calvin E. Robinson, Jr.

He gained employment with National Welders and later as a Cab Driver for State Taxi. He drove Cab # 54.

Nathaniel was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen Myers and Lillie Bell Cain Myers; two brothers, Curtis Myers and Melvin Myers; and a sister, Rena Lee Bridges.

Nathaniel leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife, Lawrencenia of 51 years; a daughter, Linda Myers Wilds; a son, Quincey Fontel Jackson; two grandchildren, Quincey Wilds and Charles Wilds, Jr.; a brother, Jeff Allen Myers, a sister-in-law, Evangelist Magnolia Johnson; a special nephew, Jerry Turner; and a host of other nephews; nieces; cousins, other relatives; extended church family, and friends.

**Obituary for Mae Ola King

Graveside Service for Reverend Johnnie Lee King & Mrs. Mae Ola King was conducted on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Ousleydale Missionary Baptist Church, 3288 Cedar Ridge Road, Hartsville, South Carolina, where the Pastor is Reverend A. D. Robinson.

On June 6, 1946, a beautiful baby girl was born to Willie Sr. and Eola Graham Scott in Hartsville, South Carolina. They called her “Mae Ola.” As a child, Mae Ola’s desire to help others was already established; Mae Ola spent much of her youth sitting at the feet of her elders, learning how to care for others while simultaneously caring for her younger siblings.

Mae Ola was educated in the Chesterfield County School System and graduated from Pine Forest High School. She served in a domestic capacity for many homes and families in the McBee community.

She leaves behind to mourn: a daughter, Dr. Athena M. King; a son, Vashon L. (Natasha Jackson) King; a granddaughter, Jasmine King; three grandsons, Jonathan Hough, Jaylen King, and Jayce King; a great-granddaughter, Kingsley Hough; a sister, Lois (Willie) Evans, Jr.; six brothers, Billy (Marlene) Scott, Arthur (Lillian) Scott, Ronald (Debra) Hawkins, Lindell Scott, Steve Scott, and Willie (Sabrina) Scott; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other close relatives, friends, and extended church families.

Family Viewing was held on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Mount Olive Word of Life, 812 South Sixth Street, Hartsville, South Carolina.

**Obituary for Arthur Harley

Graveside Service for Mr. Arthur Harley was conducted Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Sunset Memory Gardens, 2615 Alligator Road, Effingham, South Carolina. Interment followed, directed by Smith Funeral Home of Florence, LLC. Arthur, the youngest of eleven children, was born on October 3, 1942 in Florence, SC to the late Ella Robinson Harley Hunter and Willie Harley. He transitioned to the loving hands Of God on February 1, 2021. He joined Salem United Methodist Church at an early age.

Arthur attended school in Florence South Carolina and graduated from Wilson High School in 1963. While attending high school, he was a bus driver for Florence School District One.

Arthur was joined in holy matrimony with Barbara T. Harley on September 3, 1967. To this union, they were blessed with one daughter, Chantelle.

After high school, Arthur was employed by City Ice and Fuel Company. In 1967, he began his career with Seaboard Coastline, which later became CSX. He retired from CSX after 40 years of service as a Trainman and Conductor. He was a member of Seaboard Fellowship Group.

Arthur was a regularly active person. He enjoyed landscaping, working on cars, and listening to vintage music, especially old school eight tracks. He loved reading the newspaper, watching CNN, western movies, all sporting events, and watching and listening to his favorite music artist, James Brown.

Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Willie Harley; four brothers, five sisters, and his mother and father-in-law, Virginia and Sammie Thompson.

Arthur leaves precious memories with his wife, Barbara of 53 years; one loving daughter, Chantelle M. Harley; his oldest brother which was his mentor and father figure, Reverend Lawrence (Henrietta) Harley; four sisters-in-law, Jessie Mae Harley, Martha ( Roydel) Thompson- Henry, Virence (Oscar) Johnson, and Diana (Arthur) Thompson- Green; two nieces and a nephew raised like sisters and brother, Roberta (Willie) Eaddy, Pamela Myers and Samuel (Beulah) Harley; a great nephew who is like a grandson, Delonta J’aden (L J) Smith; and a host of loving , caring and supported nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
