**PPP Program Update**

The nearly unanimous vote came after several dozen business groups, including the AICPA, endorsed the PPP Extension Act of 2021, H.R. 1799, which extends the filing deadline for PPP applications by 60 days and provides an additional 30 days for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to finish processing applications received by May 31.

**City of Hartsville Easter Eggstravaganza**

Saturday, March 27th the City of Hartsville will host the Community Easter Eggstravaganza in four city parks. This will be a self-guided, at your own pace Egg Hunt that will kick off from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. in Pride Park, Lawton Park, Burry Park, and Byerly Park.

This free event will feature more than 1,000 eggs stuffed with candy and toys in each park as well as prize eggs at each location. City staff will be on site from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at each park. Families are encouraged to come out early to spend the morning hunting away as the eggs are available on a first come, first served basis. Children are asked to bring their own baskets, but a limited number of collection bags for eggs will be available at the event for those in need. Food trucks and vendors will also be on site at each park from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. to purchase yummy treats.

City of Hartsville Director of Tourism and Communications says, “The City of Hartsville is proud to host this community favorite event with new modifications. Hosting the event in various parks rather than one place makes it more accessible for all of Hartsville. This also gives attendees more opportunity for social distancing as we continue to follow COVID-19 precautions for events.”

Please note the following tips to help make this free community event enjoyable for all:

• Parking is available in each park, but the parks are walkable for many Hartsville neighborhoods.

• Parents or guardians should supervise their children at all times during the event.

• Eggs are available on a first come, first served basis. Visit Hartsville will post on their Facebook page if eggs are still available after the event times.

• There will be no set limit on the amounts of eggs for each participant, but attendees are encouraged to be considerate of their neighbors who would also like to find eggs.

The four City Parks hosting the event are:

• Pride Park, 630 South Sixth Street

• Lawton Park, 716 Prestwood Drive

• Burry Park, 131 Cargill Way

• Byerly Park, 701 West Washington Street

**DDRA Gears Up For Annual Golf Tournament April 14**

The Darlington Downtown Revitalization Association is looking for teams to play in its Annual Golf Tournament on Wednesday, April 14, at Darlington Country Club.

Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a 1 o'clock shotgun start for this four-person, captain's choice tournament at the newly renovated Club. Presenting sponsors Carolina Bank and Darlington Raceway make the event possible each year. Other grand sponsors include Nationwide Insurance and Fitness World Gyms and, new this year, MPD Electric Cooperative.

“The business community feels this is a great way to connect and build relationships while having a good time,” says Ronnie Ward, co-chair of the tournament.

A community favorite, the tournament has been a fixture for the DDRA for years. Cost to play is $280 per four-person team. Entry fee includes green fee, cart fee, lunch, beverages along the course, prizes, and two mulligans per player. Hole sponsorships are available as well.

Also this year, the DDRA will bring back a special prize to the top team: Tickets to the Southern 500 race in September. “This is in addition to our other prizes, but it is one we felt we needed to bring back as the track has been so good to the DDRA and this community and working so hard to make Darlington a better place to work and live,” says Billy Hill, co-chair of the tournament.

The tournament serves as the organizations second biggest annual fundraiser. Proceeds help fund community projects such as the Bringing Downtown Alive! Concerts, the DDRA Improvement Incentive Program, Darlington Veterans Memorial, streetscape and beautification projects, and business networking, among other things.

Last year at the annual tournament held in June due to COVID restrictions, City of Darlington took first place in the 2020 tournament, followed by Darlington County Water & Sewer Authority, and Marlboro Development Team.
