Following the guidance of state and federal agencies, Horry County continues to allow public access to its buildings with the best safety practices being implemented. Safety measures will include:

Everyone in high-traffic public areas will be required to wear masks while inside facilities. This includes lobbies, waiting areas, customer service counters, etc. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own mask and wear it prior to entering the facilities.

Occupancy limits are set in public areas of offices and lobbies.

Physical distancing guidelines are in place.

Services made available online will continue and the public is encouraged to use online services when possible.

Additional hand sanitizing stations are stationed in public areas.

Enhanced cleaning operations will continue.

To help alleviate crowding in public areas, Horry County encourages individuals to continue to do business online and over the phone with county departments where possible. Horry County will continue to phase into operations as conditions permit, and ask for patience if wait times exist.

Anyone planning to visit a County building should be prepared to check in with staff located at the entrance to the facility. Visitors may be asked to wait outside the office or facility depending on the capacity of the facility.

County officials remind everyone to continue to follow CDC and S.C. DHEC safety guidelines as well as Governor Henry McMaster’s executive orders that remain in effect.

**School Foundation Announces Pandemic Grants**

The School Foundation recently announced it will distribute a total of $46,128 to Florence 1 Schools in pandemic grants for the current school year. “We are certainly in challenging times and the foundation felt it necessary to show our support of the students and educators at F1S by providing these one-time grants,” said Trisha Caulder, chairperson of the foundation’s grant committee. “We remain committed to providing the support and resources needed until things return to a normal state.” “Despite difficult times, the F1S educators remain steadfast in providing our students with the best education possible,” said The School Foundation Executive Director Debbie Hyler. “Their adaptation to an ever-changing learning environment has been amazing.” To date, The School Foundation has awarded more than $1.7 million in grants to Florence 1 Schools. This funding would not be possible without the support of the community and their donors. The grants committee funded eleven grant applications submitted by F1S educators.
