**REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR THE INAUGURAL PAWS UP GOLF CLASSIC HOSTED BY CLAFLIN ATHLETICS**

Orangeburg, SC – Registration is now open for the Inaugural PAWS UP Golf Classic which will be held Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Lake Marion Golf Course in Santee, SC. On-site registration starts at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. The cost for individual players is $125 and $500 for a 4-Person Team.

"Participating in the inaugural PAWS Up Golf Classic will provide an opportunity for Claflin alumni and supporters to contribute to the success and growth of the athletic department," said Director of Athletics Tony O'Neal.
On Thursday, July 8, 2021, at 7:00 p.m., the department will hold the PAWS UP Reception & Silent Auction at the Jonas T. Kennedy Health & Wellness Complex.

**OLDER WISER LIVELIER SENIORS - O.W.L.S.**

(City of Florence O.W.L.S.: Ages 50+)

Fee: $12 Annual Fee, Due January 1st

Main Location: Barnes Street Activity Center

Satellite Locations: Dr. Iola Jones Park Community Center, Levy Park Adult Center, Maple Park Community Center, and Northwest Community Center

The program includes a variety of fitness classes, access to the gym located at Barnes Street, and access to the adults events offered throughout the City of Florence's Community Centers. Fitness classes include Yoga, Tai Chi, ZUMBA, and more. The O.W.L.S. program offers day trips for an additional cost, which varies per destination. Trips are currently canceled due to COVID-19.

Lifelong Recreation

(City of Florence Lifelong Recreation: Ages 50+)

Fee: $12 Annual Fee, Due January 1st

Locations: Dr. Iola Jones Park Community Center, Levy Park Adult Center, and Northwest Community Center

The programming staff plans a variety of programs and activities each month for participants to take part in. These activities include but are not limited to fitness, arts and crafts, jewelry making, ceramics, book clubs, and gardening clubs. The membership for Lifelong Recreation also gets members access to the regularly scheduled O.W.L.S. classes.

**COASTAL FOOTBALL GARNERS PRESEASON ALL-CONFERENCE RECOGNITION**

CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina football had double-digit student-athletes named to the preseason all-conference Sun Belt teams by both the Phil Steele and Athlon Sports publications.
Headlined by first-team selection by both Phil Steele and Athlon Sports at quarterback in Grayson McCall, the Chanticleers had a total of eight student-athletes named to the preseason all-conference team by both media outlets in McCall, wide receiver Jaivon Heiligh, tight end Isaiah Likely, offensive guard Trey Carter, defensive tackle C.J. Brewer, bandit end Jeffrey Gunter, inside linebacker Silas Kelly, and cornerback D'Jordan Strong.
Rising sophomore offensive lineman Willie Lampkin, fifth-year senior linebacker Teddy Gallagher, and senior placekicker Massimo Biscardi all landed on the preseason all-conference second team for both publications, while safety Alex Spillum was tabbed preseason all-conference second-team by Phil Steele and third-team from Athlon Sports.
Picking up third-team all-conference honors from Phil Steele was offensive linemen Steven Bedosky and Sam Thompson, and long-snapper CJ Schrimpf, while Thompson was joined on Athlon Sports' preseason All-Sun Belt fourth team along with fellow offensive lineman Antwine Loper.
While named to the preseason All-Sun Belt first team at running back, Reese White garnered fourth-team recognition on offense from Phil Steele as did wideout Kameron Brown.

Redshirt senior Enock Makonzo was named to the preseason all-conference fourth-team by both publications and was joined by Heiligh as a punt returner on both teams as well.
Rounding out the honors was senior cornerback Derick Bush and senior running back and kick returner Shermari Jones both receiving preseason fourth-team accolades from Athlon Sports.
