McLeod Health Welcomes Advanced GI Specialist Dr. Amaninder Dhaliwal

McLeod Health welcomes Gastroenterologist and Advanced Endoscopist Amaninder Dhaliwal, MD to the medical staff of McLeod Regional Medical Center. Dr. Dhaliwal joins fellow physicians Dr. Deepak Chowdhary, Dr. Terri Jaggers, Dr. Davinderbir Pannu, Dr. Tim Spurling, and Dr. John Wolford at the McLeod Digestive Health Center.

Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Dr. Dhaliwal provides care to patients with

conditions affecting the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, pancreas, and gallbladder.

Dr. Dhaliwal received his medical degree from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, India in 2010, and completed his Internal Medicine Residency New York University, Langone Medical Center NY in 2016. He completed two Fellowship training programs at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska: Transplant Hepatology in 2017, and Gastroenterology & Hepatology in 2020. Dr. Dhaliwal comes to McLeod following the completion of his Fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy at the University of South Florida/Moffit Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.

Fellowship trained in Advanced Endoscopy, Dr. Dhaliwal also performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including Endoscopic Full thickness resection (EFTR), Fistula, leak and perforation closure, Transoral gastric outlet reduction (TORe), Achalasia treatment and Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD)Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography (ERCP), Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), Endoscopic Mucosal Resection (EMR), Fine needle aspirations/biopsy and Fiducial placement, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), Barrett's ablation, Endoscopic suturing, Colonoscopy, and Enteroscopy.

A native of India, Dr. Dhaliwal is one of three physicians in his family, mentored by his two sisters who chose careers in medicine as well. He and his wife, Ragini, are parents of a daughter, Banee.
