Honor A Loved One This Holiday Season Donate To Lights Of Love

December 03, 2021

The popular campaign offers a unique opportunity to honor, memorialize or recognize a loved one while also supporting scholarships awarded through the health system’s McRoy and Jo Skipper Initiative for Learning and Teaching to Tidelands Health employee partners and local graduating high school seniors.

“A donation to Lights of Love truly is a special gift,” said Jessica Sasser, executive director of the Tidelands Health Foundation. “Not only are you honoring an individual who is special to you, but you are also helping our current and future health care heroes further their education to serve our community.”

For a minimum $10 tax-deductible donation for each honoree, the Tidelands Health Foundation will illuminate a light on the holiday trees at Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital, Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital and Tidelands Health Medical Park at The Market Common in Myrtle Beach. The trees will remain illuminated throughout the holiday season.

Each donation will also be acknowledged with a special holiday card to the honoree or honoree’s family sent on the donor’s behalf by the Tidelands Health Foundation. In addition, every name honored, memorialized or recognized with a donation will be listed on the Tidelands Health website.

Donors can honor anyone – relatives, cherished friends, teachers and front-line health care workers.

“Lights of Love is all about capturing the spirit of the holiday season by honoring those who are or have been bright lights in our own lives or for our community,” Sasser said.

Donations to Lights of Love can be made now through Jan. 15. Go to tidelandshealth.org to complete the donation form, or call 843-652-8080 for more information.

The Tidelands Health Foundation works in partnership with Tidelands Health, the region’s largest health care provider, to offer new technologies, modern facilities and increased access to health care services in the community.
