J.H. Fordham Lodge 7 donated toys to the children in the adoption unit of the Department of Social Services. All members of J. H. Fordham 7 participated.
Under the leadership of Michael James Sr. stated this giving is not a one time occasion. James offered any additional assistance the adoption unit may need stating “ JH Fordham Lodge 7 is one call away.”
About JH Fordham
Major John Hammond Fordham served the Orangeburg, South Carolina community. Major Fordham was born in Charleston in 1856. Fordham obtain an education from Avery Institute. He continued his studies under the Rev. JB Seabrook.
JH Fordham was called " Major" because he was one of the organizers of the Carolina Light Infantry in Charleston, which was the first african brigade organized in the south. He was appointed Judge Advocate with the rank of Major.
J.H Fordham was elected coroner in 1874, and served as a postal clerk, Deputy collector of internal revenue and much more.

23rd Annual
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration

On Thursday, January 13, The Florence Chamber of Commerce will partner with Francis Marion University and McLeod Health to host the 23rd Annual Martin Luther King Jr. event. The annual celebration will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Francis Marion University’s Chapman Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.
