Ingredients
• 2 teaspoons olive oil
• 4 (4-6-ounce) salmon fillets
• salt, to taste
• pepper, to taste
• 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
• 3 tablespoons water, room temperature, plus 1 tablespoon cold
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
• 3 tablespoons honey
• 2 teaspoons cornstarch
• 1 1/2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
• lemon wedges, optional, for serving
Directions
Step 1: Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
Step 2: Season the salmon with salt and pepper.
Step 3: Place the salmon in the hot oil, skin side up, and sauté until cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side. The salmon should flake easily with a fork.
Step 4: Transfer the salmon to a plate and cover to keep it warm.
Step 5: Add the garlic to the pan and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds-1 minute.
Step 6: Add the 3 tablespoons of room-temperature water, lemon juice, soy sauce, and honey to the pan, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
Step 7: Mix the cornstarch and cold water together to form a slurry.
Step 8: Slowly add the cornstarch slurry to the pan, whisking to combine.
Step 9: Bring the mixture to a boil and cook until just thickened, for about 1 minute.
Step 10: Return the salmon to the pan and spoon the sauce over it.
Step 11: Serve topped with parsley and lemon wedges.
