Cooks for Christ is raising funds to help assist Michael with medical and transplant expenses.
Michael Sprauve, a 28-year-old resident of Florence, SC, is in need of a kidney transplant. Although he has had a challenging time, on July 28, 2021, his son Casamari was born. Mike was diagnosed at age 15 with polycystic kidney disease and on January 23, 2011, he received his 1st kidney transplant. However, in November 2017 he showed signs of serious rejection and in March 2018 his gift fully rejected and he began dialysis. It has been a challenging time for him, but an enlightening one to live life to the fullest and learn how to take each day as a new day to simply live! Mike has been on the transplant list at MUSC, Charleston, SC since February 2019. We are aggressively seeking a living donor but await the call if someone made the decision to be an organ donor on their license and want to leave a legacy of saving one or more lives. The past nine months have been very challenging for Mike due to health issues related to his kidney failure and low immune system. We are trusting and believing in an Angel to answer the call to be a Living Donor!

Michael’s benefit will be held on Thursday, May 12th at the West Florence Fire Station on Pine Needles Road in Florence, South Carolina. Lunch will be served from 11:00am until 2:00pm and dinner will be served from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. Drive through lanes will be open for your convenience and a bake sale will be held all day. Plates are $10.00 each. Lunch and dinner can be delivered for orders of seven (7) or more plates. The menu consists of chicken bog, green beans, slaw and bread. We promise your meal will be DELICIOUS!
