Mia McLeod Running For SC Governor To Say, “No To Politics As Usual!”

Sen. Mia McLeod Sen. Mia McLeod

I’m running for Governor because I am ready to lead South Carolina to her next chapter where access to quality education, jobs, and healthcare don’t depend on your zip code, or the color of your skin.

I’ve spent my entire political career taking on the fights that matter, standing on my principles, even when I had to stand alone. When the old guard attacked women's right to choose, I fought back. When Governor McMaster quietly withheld federal unemployment aid, I spoke up. And when Republicans targeted my seat, I won.
Rejecting the status quo politics of the past is how we’ll create a path for a better future. This is our moment, but only if we have the courage to seize it. South Carolina is ready for a leader who has the guts to govern. Let’s get to work.

Senator Mia McLeod was the first black woman elected to represent her Senate district. She is a working mom, small business owner, and seventh-generation South Carolinian from Bennettsville, South Carolina. She is a former State Representative, current State Senator representing District 22, and is running as a Democratic candidate for Governor.

Mia is running for Governor to say no to politics as usual, and the same old tired leadership of yesterday.

It will take all of us to build a transformative movement for change, which is why Mia needs you in this fight.
