Michael Gregg July 6, 1970 - July 13, 2022

On Wednesday, July 13, 2022, after a life well lived, Mr. Michael David Gregg departed this earthly life. Michael was born on July 6, 1970, to the late Paul and Emma Lee Gregg in Darlington, South Carolina.

Michael, an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan graduated from Wilson High School in 1989, and began his career in the funeral industry at Grove Hill Cemetery in Darlington, South Carolina.. His love of the business led him into becoming a vault man at Ouzts-Wilbert Vault Company in Florence, South Carolina, where he continued to work until his demise.

Michael met and married his wife, Janelle in 1996. To this union they were blessed with five children.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Emma Lee Gregg; and a brother, Timothy Gregg.

Michael leaves to cherish his precious memories; his wife, Janelle; five children, Janiya, Jamyka, Jakiya, Jameya, and Jatyla Allen-Gregg all of the home in Darlington, South Carolina; three daughters, Indonesia Gregg of Hartsville, South Carolina, Courtney Williams, and Vivian Williams both of Columbia, South Carolina. He is also survived by three sisters, Annie Rea (Nathaniel) Benjamin of Timmonsville, South Carolina, Emma Jean (Dion) Harrell of Darlington, South Carolina, and Azalee (Ernest) James of Florence, South Carolina; four brothers: William Paul (Diane) Arthur of Florence, South Carolina, Paul Gregg, Jr. of Hartsville, South Carolina, Charles (Martha) Gregg of Darlington, South Carolina and John Gregg of Timmonsville, South Carolina; his mother-in-law, Amelia Allen of Darlington, South Carolina; his father-in-law, John (Annette) Allen of Florence, South Carolina; a special friend, Anthony Harkless of Darlington, South Carolina, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Michael David Gregg will be greatly missed by everyone whom he encountered.

Ernest Brunson October 5, 1946 - July 13, 2022

Mr. Ernest B. Brunson, son of the late Lee Ernest Brunson and Mertha Mae Canty Brunson was born in Clarendon County, South Carolina on October 5, 1946. He passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2022.

The Brunson family relocated to Miami, Florida where Ernest attended Dade County Public School Systems and was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School.

After graduation, Ernest enlisted in the United States Army and at the conclusion of his service to our country, he received an honorable discharge.

Ernest was later employed with Metro Dade County Transit Line for 32 years.

Ernest was married to Alice “Tippy” Edwards Brunson and this union was blessed with one son, Lenny.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Ernest Brunson and Mertha Mae Canty Brunson; two brothers, Carmen Brunson and Ronald Brunson; and two sisters, Tangilyn Brunson and Janice Brunson.

Ernest leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Alice “Tippy” Edwards Brunson of 53 years; a son, Lenny Bernard Brunson. three brothers, Lester Brunson, Eddie (Roslyn) Brunson, and David Brunson all of Miami, Florida; eight sisters, Mary Mellerson and Sonya Lake both of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, Margaret Brown of Lauderhill, Florida, Dethera Ward of Hollywood, Florida, and Ageria Brunson of North Miami, Florida; six aunts, Mary (Joe) Spriggs of Washington, District of Columbia, Beatrice (Richard) Harrison and Joyce (Vince) Boone both of Clinton, Maryland; Maggie McAllister of Effingham, South Carolina, Juanita Brunson of Miami, Florida and his favorite aunt, Phyllis Walker of Summerton, South Carolina; five sisters-in-law, Shirley Stanley, Grace Weeks, Catherine Johnson, Coretha (Elder Edward) Brown all of Miami, Florida; two special cousins-in-law, Rosetta (Manning) Joe of Effngham, South Carolina and Richard (Cynitha) Daniels of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends

Frances Dean August 3, 1940 - July 13, 2022

Frances Dean, 81, widow of Johnnie Dean Jr., died Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at Sumter East Health and Rehab, Sumter. Born on August 3, 1940 in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Junious and Celia James Wells. She was educated in the public schools of Lee County. Frances worked for Bosch Braking Systems until her retirement in 2002. At an early age, she dedicated her life to Christ and joined Unionville A. M. E. Church in St. Charles, where she worked in many capacities: Women Missionary Society, Usher Board, Jubilee Choir, Stewardess Board No. 1 and Pastor’s Aid. Frances leaves to cherish her memories: a daughter, Joyce (Barrett) Durant of Sumter; three granddaughters, Ashley (Shakil) Miller of Columbia, Amber Robinson of Lexington, KY and Jhayda Durant of Sumter; four great grandchildren; one brother, Elias (Mildred) Wells of Mayesville; two sisters, Ida Wilson and Julia (William) Brown, both of Baltimore, MD. In accordance with the COVID 19 guidelines, the family is requesting no visitations at the home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 11:00 a. m. in the John Wesley Williams Sr. Memorial Chapel of Williams Funeral Home, Inc., 821 North Main Street, Sumter, with the Rev. Jerome McCray, Officiating. The procession will leave from the home at 10:20 a. m. Interment will be in the Unionville A. M. E. Church Yard Cemetery, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville.

Pastor Raleigh Jett March 26, 1942 - July 14, 2022

In humble submission to the will of God, the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and the Jett Family sadly announce the earthly departure of Pastor Raleigh Jett, senior pastor of Redeemed Cathedral Missionary Baptist Church. God saw fit to end this journey of Pastor Jett on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at McLeod Regional Medical Center following an illness.

For we are reminded in Psalm 55:6, It says, "Oh that I had wings like a dove for then would I fly away and be at rest!" For we know that Pastor Raleigh Jett is simply resting in the Bosom of the Lord.

A Celebration of Life is pending and will be shared in the coming days.

At the family request, there will be no visitation at the residence. The Jett family solicits your prayers.

Robert Lee Bellamy November 3, 1957 - July 15, 2022

Elder Robert Lee Bellamy was 64 and departed this life, Friday, July 15, 2022 in Charlotte, NC. He was the husband of Debra Finklea Bellamy and the brother of Elder Joan Holland, Elder Nancy Wheeler and Elder Felicia Brown. You may visit the family at 506 south Pine Street, Marion, SC.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the CD Joyner Auditorium or Marion on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 2pm. Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

Annie Mae Thomas Kirkland September 25, 1935 – July 14, 2022

Annie Mae Thomas Kirkland (September 25, 1935 – July 14, 2022) formerly from Timmonsville, SC

She was married to the late Ozell Kirkland. She was a daughter of the late Willie and Annie Fields Thomas.

Annie Mae Thomas Kirkland was educated in the public schools of Florence County, South Carolina. She relocated to New York in the 1958 and was employed for many years with the New York City School Board of Education as a Bus Attendant. She was a member of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ in Manhattan, New York where she served faithfully until she returned home to South Carolina in 2018.

She was Preceded in death by Children – Jesse, Geraldine, James and Derrek; Siblings, Dorothy Dixon and James Thomas.

Survivors include: children, Ernest Kirkland and Celestine Kirkland; a brother Woodrow (Eva Lou) Thomas, Sr.; a sister-in-law, Calperta Kirkland; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and six great- great grandchildren

Pauline Singleton January 28, 1936 - July 14, 2022

Pauline Singleton, 86, daughter of the late Sampson Singleton, Sr., and Lucy McCaw Singleton, was born on January 28, 1936 in Sumter, SC. She departed this life on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter, SC.

Public viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 2-6pm at Job’s Mortuary.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at St. Mark Four Bridges Baptist Church 2280 4 Bridges Road, Sumter, SC 29153 with Dr. Sammie D. Simmons, Officiating.

Interment will follow in Singleton Cemetery/St. Paul AME-Shaw

Family will receive friends at the home of her sister, 3430 Hwy 15 South, Sumter, SC 29150
