Pastor Joseph White Celebrates 39 Years in Ministry

Raised by his late Mother, Mary B. White and late Maternal Grandparents, William & Annie Bell Barr, Pastor White was born March 3, 1964, and raised in Kingstree, Williamsburg County SC. The eighth of nine children, he was educated in the Williamsburg County School System and graduated from Kingstree Senior High School 1982. He enrolled and attended Limestone College Gaffney, SC where he received his Bachler of Social Work Degree in 2011. Answering his call from his Heavenly Father, he delivered his initial sermon “Do You Have The Faith” from Hebrews 11:1, Sunday, May 23, 2004 at the Mount Zion A.M.E. Church, Florence, SC under the leadership of then (Rev.) Bishop Julius H. McAllister, Sr.

Pastor White received his ministerial training from his home church, Mt. Carmel U.M.E. Church in Stuckey, SC, under the leadership of his Pastor, Bishop J. H. Morant. Being mentored and nurtured by several pastors: *Rev. W.C. Ervin, *Rev. Thomas Samuels, *Elder Henry Epps Sr., *Rev. Alex Kinlaw, Minister Winston Boyd, Rev. John Rogers and his former pastor Rev. Merritt Graves, Pastor White continued to grow into the Servant God ordained. Upon receiving his license to preach, in 2012 Pastor White was ordained an Itinerant Deacon in the A.M.E. Church. He was appointed and served for nine years as pastor of the Mt. Tabor A.M.E. Church, Florence, SC. Pastor White, being led by the Holy Spirit, left the A.M.E. Church and in January 2021, established and founded the Church of the Living God, Florence, South Carolina where he serves as the Senior Pastor. He truly believes in fulfilling the gospel as in Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…”

Pastor White met and married, after four years of dating, his queenly wife, Annie M. (Brown) White on February 14, 1987. To this union they were blessed with three beautiful children, Joseph N., II (Amber Graham) White, Arielle White (Kendrick) Brown, and Destini White. Pastor and First Lady White are the proud grandparents of five grandchildren: Karlee Brown, Kendrick Brown, Jr., Abrielle Campbell, Jordan Joshua Flegler and Amara Brielle Flegler.
Currently, Pastor White is employed as Human Service Specialist at the Department of Disability and Special Needs of Florence, SC.
