*Vivian E. Kerson, July 28, 1955 - February 17, 2023*
Mrs. Vivian Elaine Kerson was born July 28, 1955, along with her twin sister, the late Valerie Sumpter, in Yonkers, New York to the late Blanche Hines. She peacefully passed on Friday, February 17, 2023.
On March 25, 1972, Vivian married Roland Kerson. They spent 46 years together until his death on July 10, 2018. Together they had four children, the late Danny Kerson, Tisha Kerson, Teresa Kerson and Roland Kerson, Jr. She loved crafting, scratch tickets, watching westerns, eating good food, and Coke.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Kerson, Sr.; a son, Danny Kerson; her mother, Blanche Hines; her stepfather, Leroy Hines; a twin sister, Valerie Sumpter; two brothers, Stephen Sumpter and Michael Sumpter; a nephew, Dathan Sumpter; her father-in-law, Adell “JD” Kerson; her mother-in-law, Lila Kerson; six brothers-in-law, John Kerson, Waldell Kerson, Jonathan Kerson, Bill Chaney, Bubba Gillard and Jerome Brockington; and two sisters-in-law, Evelyn Kerson and Daisy Kerson.
Vivian will be remembered and missed by those who loved her: three children, Tisha, Teresa and Roland Jr.; two grandchildren, Shakoya Kerson and Jameer Davis; three nieces, Juanita Sumpter, Jasmine Hall and Amery Arrington; a nephew, Allen Arrington; two sisters, Dolly Hines and Lorraine Sumpter; three brothers-in-law, Nathaniel Kerson, Gilbert Kerson and Mickey Kerson; six sisters-in-law, Peggy Kerson, Janet Chaney, Clara (Harold) McKnight, Patricia Gilliard, Shirley Brockington and Annie Kerson; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

*Mr. Julius Alston, February 20, 2023*
Mr. Julius Alston peacefully transitioned Monday, February 20, 2023 at his residence.
The family will begin receiving friends Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 114 Kirven St., Darlington, S.C. 29532, during the hours of 3:00 - 5:00.

*Mrs. Edell Goodson, September 1, 1942 - February 17, 2023*
It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mrs. Edell Goodson of Darlington, SC. Mrs. Goodson transitioned on Friday, February 17, 2023 in Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center following an illness.
Funeral service is 12 Noon on Friday, February 24, 2023 at Center Baptist Church with Apostle Dr. Laverne Chapman, Officitaing and Reverend Jackie Boyd, Pastor. Interment will follow in Hart No. 2 Cemetery.
Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of a daughter and son-in-law, Charlena and Apostle Dr. Laverne Chapman, 2060 Philadelphia Street, Darlington.

Sister My'Lykia De-Ann Purdy was 27, and departed this life Wednesday February 15, 2023 in Florence County. She was the daughter of Herbert Davis and Veronica Purdy. You may visit the family at 6335 Golden Ct. Mullins.
Funeral services at scheduled to be held at the Bethel Word Ministries Church, on Saturday February 25, at 12:00 noon. She will be laid to rest at Hickory Grove Cemetery, 5598 Hinsons Crossroad, Fair Bluff, NC 28439.
*Mrs. Gussie Irene Kelly, February 28, 1956 - February 16, 2023*
It is with profound sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Jackson and Kelly families announce the transition of Mrs. Gussie Irene Jackson Kelly of Darlington, SC. "Princess/Prinny", as she was affectionately called transitioned on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center of Florence following an illness.
Funeral service is 1:00PM on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Salem Baptist Church. Interment will follow on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 11:00AM in Florence National Cemetery.

*Tony Anthony Allen, June 21,1961 - February 17, 2023*
Tony Anthony Allen was born in Timmonsville, SC on June 21,1961.
He was born into a large family, Joseph (deceased) and Mary Helen Allen. He has the best siblings, Linda, Joseph, Ronnie, Terry, Kelvin, Willestine, Ronald, Lois, and Craig who loved him dearly. He was always happy that they were his family. He graduated from Timmonsville High School in 1979.
Tony was called home on Friday, February 17,2023 at 10:45am. He leaves behind his loving wife Donna, his loving mother Mary Helen Allen, loving siblings Linda, Joe, Ronnie, Terry, Kelvin, Willestine, Ronald, Lois, and Craig. Along with their loving spouses and loads of nieces and nephews.
He worked for Domino Sugary Refinery in Baltimore, MD as Security Manager for 31 years retiring in 2019. He started as a security guard and worked his way up the ladder as Security Manager.
