*Rembert Ferris Davis, December 6, 1969 - March 4, 2023*

It is with sorrow the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. announces the passing of Mr. Rembert Ferris Davis, affectionately know as “Renny” of Florence, SC formally of Lamar, SC. Mr. Davis passed early Saturday morning, March 4, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.

Funeral service is Friday, March 10, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. in Sandy Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Interment will follow.

“For now I am ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith, henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.” II Timothy 4:6-8

Mr. Rembert Ferris Davis was born in Darlington, South Carolina on December 6, 1969 a son of Alphonso and Christine Robinson and reared by his great aunt, Altha Mae “Mutt” Davis. He entered into his final resting place on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, SC.

He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public Schools and an Honor’s Graduate of Mayo High School Class of 1988. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he was medically discharged under honorable conditions.

Rembert enrolled in Denmark Technical College in Denmark, SC.

“Renny”, affectionately called by family and friends, was employed with Florence Industrial until his health declined.

On February 11, 2008, he was united in marriage to the former Miss Tara Allen.

Those left to cherish his memories are: his wife of 15 years, Tara Allen Davis of the home; his parents: Christine Davis Robinson and Alphonso Robinson both of Darlington, SC; his great aunt, Altha Mae “Mutt” Davis of Darlington, SC; his daughter, Imana (Jonathan) Holmes-Caasi of Vandenberg Space Force Base, California; three grandchildren: Ashara Lawhorn (8 years old), Emiko Caasi (2 years old) and Raelle Caasi (8 months old); one brother, Marcus Shenard Robinson of Darlington, SC; three aunts: Annette Johnson, Julia Davis and Renetha Davis Blackmon all of Darlington, SC; two uncles, Jackie Wendell Davis of Darlington, SC and Sammie Davis of Houston, TX; several cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the residence of an aunt, Ms. Altha Mae "Mutt" Davis, 100 Springfield Circle, Apt. 19C, Darlington.

*Catherine Deloris Aiken, December 15, 1945 - March 2, 2023*

Sister Catherine Deloris Bell Aiken was 77, and departed this life Thursday March 2, 2023 in Marion County. She was the mother of Ronnie Aiken, Tommy Aiken, Keith Aiken and Leteashi Woodberry. You may visit the family at 2414 Olivet Cemetery Rd. Mullins.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Little Pee Dee Baptist Center 6127 East Highway 76, Mullins, SC 29574, on Friday March 10, at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest at St. James AME Church Cemetery. Services will be live-streamed on the Jackson & McGill Facebook Page.

*Marie Bacote Alford, June 22, 1928 - March 5, 2023*

It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff of Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home, Inc. and members of the Alford family share the peaceful transition of their matriarch, Mrs. Marie Bacote Alford of Darlington, SC. Mrs. Alford exchange time for eternity on Sunday evening, March 5, 2023 at McLeod Hospice House following an illness.

*Joseph B. Butler, March 18, 1941 - March 2, 2023*

Father Joseph B. Butler 81, departed this life Thursday March 2, in Mullins SC. He was the husband of Renee Butler, the father of Ashelie Butler, JoNee Butler, Ruth Butler, Diana Smith, Patricia Allen, Joann Butler and Rachel Butler. You may visit the family at 316 N. Park St. Mullins.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church on Sunday March 12, at 2:30 pm.

*Roosevelt Sparks, August 7, 1944 - March 4, 2023*

Brother Roosevelt Sparks, was 78 and departed this life Saturday March 4, 2023 in Florence County. He was the father of Chris Sparks, the brother of Alma Sparks. You may visit the family at 1803 Phil Ct. Marion.

Funeral services are scheduled to be held at the Tabernacle AME Church on Saturday March 18, at 2:00 pm. He will be laid to rest at Tabernacle AME Church Cemetery.

*Rosa Lee Jeffery, September 22, 1942 - March 3, 2023*

It is with profound sorrow we announce the passing of Mrs. Rosa Lee Jeffery, 80, of 320 Brewer Avenue, Hartsville, South Carolina, who entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 3, 2023 after an illness.

A celebration of life will be held accordingly. Public visitation and viewing only will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Gilbert Hines Memorial Chapel at 833 South Sixth Street Hartsville, SC 29550. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 12 PM at the Church of Christ Lamar at 680 Sandy Grove Ch Rd, Lamar, SC 29069.
