Samuel Woodberry Sr.,84, son of the late Jack Woodberry Sr., and Amanda Hannah, was born on December 21, 1938 in Marion, SC. He departed this life on Friday, April 14, 2023 in Florence, SC. Arrangements are entrusted to Professionals of Backus Funeral Home, LLC. Public Viewing on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Backus Funeral Home. Celebration of Life scheduled for Thursday, April 20, 2023 beginning at 2:00 PM held at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 1330 Penderboro Road, Marion, SC 29751.

Mrs. Sylvia L. Anderson-Tucker, daughter of the late Mr. Sam Anderson and Mrs. Mary L. Anderson was born May 10, 1954 in Florence, South Carolina. She was called home to rest on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at the age of 68 years young. “Linda” as she was affectionately called was educated in the Florence County Public Schools. She continued her education at Florence Darlington Technical College. Linda devoted her years to being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was employed with Carolina Hospital for over 30 years before her retirement in 2014. At an early age, she joined Trinity Baptist Church. Linda was united in holy matrimony to Willie H. Tucker. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Sam Anderson and Mrs. Mary L. Anderson; and a brother, Daniel Ray Anderson. Those left to cherish her memories include: a loving husband, Willie H. Tucker; two daughters, Linda Anderson Green and Victoria Myers both of Florence, South Carolina; three sons, Heyward Myers, Jr. of Florence, South Carolina, Nero S. (Crystal) Myers of Lithonia, Georgia and Terrence T. (Veronica) Myers of Florence, South Carolina; two brothers, Sam Jr. (Diane) Anderson and Kenneth L. Anderson both of Florence, South Carolina; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ms. Dora Lee Grant peacefully transitioned at her residence with her family by her side on Sunday, April 16, 2023. The family will receive friends at 1775 Harry Byrd Highway, Darlington, S.C. 29532. It is with heartfelt sorrow that the management and staff and members of the George family announce the passing of Mr. Anthony George of Florence, SC, formally of Lamar, SC. Mr. George transitioned on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at his sister's residence in Florence following an illness. Funeral arrangements are pending and plans will be shared at a later date.

Ms. Diane passed on early Sunday morning, April 16, 2023 in a Charleston hospital following an illness. Funeral service is 1:00pm on Thursday, April 20, 2023 in Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
