“With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men” Ephesians 6:7.
Sweet Feet Diabetic Foot Spa was founded by Dr. Hillery Dolford DNP, FNP-C, WCC, DWC a board-certified Doctor of Nursing Practice.
Located at 2724 W. Palmetto Street, Ste.3, Florence, South Carolina Sweet Feet provide Foot care. It may be necessary, but how many people think about whether their feet should have medical attention? Feet are important parts of the human body and yet many may not consider the care that is necessary to keep them healthy. Some associate foot care as an occasional pedicure or toenail trimming when they become overgrown and uncomfortable. Others may think simply soaking their feet is all that is needed.
Dr. Hillery Dolford, owner of Sweet Feet Diabetic Foot Spa, specializes in diabetic foot care. Sweet Feet Diabetic foot spa was created as a safe haven for diabetic patients. They treat patients who have diabetes in need of preventative care, wound care and limb salvage. Patients who have diabetes experience loss of sensation, tingling, callouses and non-healing wounds, along with many other abnormalities of the feet and lower legs. “Our spa was created for diabetics but is open to the needs of persons with poor blood circulation, neuropathy, fungal infections, cracked heels, corns/calluses, ingrown/overgrown toenails or for any individual that is in need of a medically safe pedicure” (www/sweetfeetdiabeticspa.com).
Children and juvenile diabetics are also accepted patients at Sweet Feet Diabetic Foot Spa. Parents and children are taught preventative strategies to keep children’s feet safe and healthy as they grow up.
Dolford is a board-certified Doctor of Nursing who earned her degrees from Francis Marion University, Walden University, The University of South Carolina and Florence Darlington Tech. She said her calling as a provider is spiritually guided by her faith in God. Sweet Feet offers medically safe pedicures in the comfort of a relaxing, up-scale medical spa.
Dolford states she works closely with a local vascular surgeon to promote limb salvage when limb-threatening conditions are recognized in her spa. Dolford is passionate about caring for diabetic feet and said she continues to research ways to treat common foot problems and promote limb salvage. Fungal foot infections are also a common problem Dolford treats in her spa. “A fungal infection left untreated can place a patient at risk of systemic infection that can lead to lower leg amputation.
Dolford states patients often attempt home remedies for fungal infections but finds this usually worsens the condition. Dolford prides her spa on hospital grade sterility. She states all implements used for patient care are sterilized with use of autoclave and some are disposable. Dolford says sterilization of tools is crucial to diabetic foot care so as not to introduce injury.
Though insurance is not accepted for most services, Sweet Feet has multiple payment options available for out-of-pocket expenses. Service prices are affordable and other non-diabetic nail services are available.
Mobile service is also available for home and bed bound patients. Overall diabetic foot health promotion is a part of her mission and Dolford is a champion in foot care!
