Official Street Dedication Ceremony In Honor of Senator Maggie Glover

A Historic Street Dedication Ceremony Honoring Senator Maggie W. Glover was held on last Thursday, August 29, 2024. The portion of Sumter Street in the City of Florence from the intersection with Alexander Street to its intersection with McQueen Street is now nicknamed "Senator Maggie Glover Way.”

Glover was a distinguished member of the South Carolina General Assembly, having served as a member of the House of Representatives from 1989 to 1992, and as a member of the Senate from 1993 to 2004.
