*Obituary of Jesse Lee Eaddy*

Jesse L. Eaddy, the son of the late Nathaniel Eaddy and Ethel “Rosa” Robinson, was born May 20, 1936 in Florence County. He departed this life on May 26, 2021 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina.

Jesse attended public schools in Florence County and received his diploma from Wilson Senior High School. He loved music and was a member of the Wilson Senior High Band as a drummer.

On October 31, 1954, Jesse was joined in holy matrimony to the late Inez Wilson Eaddy of Florence. They were married for forty years, and their union was blessed with six sons: Victor, Earl, Rubin, Kenneth, Phillip, and Robert. He later married the late Corine Burroughs McCrea Eaddy in 1997 and increased his family with three additional children, Debra, Vincent, and Gary.

Jesse L. Eaddy was a devoted husband and father. He started his work life with Woolworths, Five and Dime then later worked at a local Lumber Processer and Sawmill. He also held a position as a material’s handler in the warehouse at DuPont and progressed to a position in casting until his retirement.

Jesse fellowshipped and became a member of St. Peter’s Believers Holiness Church where he dedicated his life in service for over fifty years. He served in numerous capacities: Sunday School Teacher; Deacon for over thirty years; Sunday School Superintendent for St. Peters; Superintendent of Sunday School Programs for The Believer’s Holiness Church Conference; Treasurer of The Believer’s Holiness Church Conference; served as a member of the Executive Board of the Believer’s Holiness Church Conference and was ordained an Elder of The Believer’s Holiness Church Conference.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; his spouses, Inez Wilson Eaddy and Corine Burroughs McCrea Eaddy; and two sons, Earl Eaddy and Robert Eaddy.

Jesse leaves to cherish his life memories: his children, Victor (Yvette) Eaddy of Charlotte North Carolina, Aleisha Eaddy of Columbia, South Carolina, Rubin Eaddy of Florence, South Carolina, Kenneth (Pauletta) Eaddy of Panama City, Florida, Phillip (Marguerite) Eaddy of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Jackie Eaddy of New York, New York, Debra (Idrickson) Bodkin of Hemingway, South Carolina, Minister Vincent McCrea, II of Kingstree, South Carolina, Elder Gary Leroy (Minister Tina) McCrea of Stone Mountain, Georgia; two sisters, Shirley Jackson of New York, New York and Rebecca Fikes of Mitchellville, Maryland; and a host of nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended church family, other relatives, and friends.

*Obituary of Lanette Lamara Townsend Kennedy*

Mrs. Lanette Lamara Townsend Kennedy, daughter of the late Horace and Thomasenia Townsend, departed this earthly life on Thursday, May 13, 2021.

Before moving to South Carolina, Lanette attended school in Wake County, NC. She completed her education at Timmonsville High School in Timmonsville, SC.

Lanette was employed as a housekeeper and nanny to several families in the Florence area. She believed that the caliber of one’s work was a reflection of there character. As a result of her stellar work ethic, attention to detail, and genuine concern for the wellbeing of the families for whom she worked, she would often turn an assignment of one week into one that lasted several years, ended with lifelong friendships.

To close friends and family members, Lanette was affectionately referred to as simply “Nett”. She was a devoted, loving wife; a protective, caring sister; and a thoughtful friend.

Left to cherish Lanette’s loving memories: her loving and devoted husband of 36 years, and best friend Daniel Kennedy of the home; three brothers: Gregory (Veronica) Townsend of Florence, SC; Horace (Lisa) Townsend of Darlington, SC; Marshall Townsend of Timmonsville, SC, three sisters: Cynthia T. Starr of Florence, SC, Karen T. Coe of Florence, SC; and Natalie Kennedy, who preceded her in death. Sister-in Law, Jestine Dubose of Florence, SC, great aunt: Corine Steward of Baltimore, MD; as well as a host of family members and dear friends.

A beautiful person, inside and out, Lanette’s kind heart and gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all. Thanks to the goodness of the mighty God we serve, her joy, her smile, and her unforgettable loud and roaring laughter, along with countless cherished memories of a life well-lived will be forever etched in the hearts and minds of each and every life she touched.

*Obituary of Ben Brown*

Ben was born on June 13, 2004, in Fairbanks, AK, to Derrick Brown and Temika Brown. He departed this earthly life on May 10th in Sacramento, CA at the age of 16.

He was a junior at River Valley High School and was best known for his love of all sports and music. His dream was to be a professional athlete and attend Clemson University. He loved to make memories with his family, entertain his friends, and make music in his free time. His natural athletic abilities and creative and energetic personality have left an impression on those who knew him. We are all proud and blessed to have been a part of his life. His unconditional love for family, fun, and laughter is what made him so special.

Ben is preceded in death by his grandfather, Ben Brown, and grandmother, Elaine Hill.

Ben is survived by father, Derrick Brown; mother, Temika Brown; brother, Kevonnie Brown; sisters, Brooklynn Brown, Rylee Brown, Karlee Brown and Teresa (Douglas) Hill; grandmother, Melissa Brown; aunts, Roschell Brown, and Erica Baker; uncles, Travis Hill, Jeffery (Stephanie) Baker, Bryant Johnson, and Benjamin Brown and a host of other relatives and friends.

*Obituary of Reverend Doctor Rosa Lee Davis (Lewis)*

Reverend Doctor Rosa Lee Davis (Lewis) was born in Hemingway, South Carolina to the late Albert Lewisand the late Susan Lewis on February 1, 1941. She departed this life on May 22, 2021.

Reverend Rosa attended Gibbs High School in Pamplico, South Carolina. She left high school to marry her late husband Rufus McKinley Davis, Jr. in November 1958. They were wed in Newark, New Jersey where they also resided and began their family. This blessed union produced four children (3 daughters, 1 son); seven grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a host of adopted sons/daughters. In 1969, they moved to Willingboro, New Jersey to provide a better environment for their family. Rosa Davis received Christ Jesus at an early agein church but rededicated her life to Christ as an adult in 1976. She became a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Burlington, New Jersey, where the pastor was the late Reverend Richard W. Jones.

Reverend Doctor Rosa Davis was an ardent believer in education and higher learning. Leaving high school to get married she later returned to school in New Jersey where she earned her GED. She would later continue her educational studies by also obtaining her Associates Degree from Burlington County College, Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Theology, Master’s Degree and Honorary Doctorate Degree in Biblical Studies & Theology. Besides being a student, she became a passionate teacher of the Word of God both in her church, in weekly neighborhood biblical studies and served as Dean of Manna Bible Institute in Mount Holly, New Jersey for approximately two decades. In the final years of her life, she relocated back to her hometown of Hemingway, South Carolina and joined Bethlehem AME Church where she served as Associate Pastor and an adult bible study teacher.

Reverend Doctor Rosa Davis was preceded in deathby her parents, Albert and Susan Lewis; her mother andfather-in-law, Rufus and Magdeline Davis, and herhusband, Rufus McKinley Davis, Jr. She was alsopreceded in death by her four brothers: Samuel Lewis, George Lewis, Jesse Lewis, and Walter Lewis; one sister: Nellie M. McGill; four brothers-in-law: Howard Davis, Charles Davis, Benny Davis, Bernard Davis and one sister-in-law: Mary Francis Davis. She leaves to cherish her loving memories three daughters and one son, Rosalind Davis of Hemingway, South Carolina, Sharon Andria Davis-Crocker of Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Minister Twanda Everta Davis, RN of Hemingway, South Carolina, and Minister Kenneth Leon Davis, Esquire (Angelia) of Mauldin, South Carolina. Seven precious grandchildren, Lawrence Davis (Maple Shade, New Jersey), Raechel Nicole Crocker (Mt. Laurel, New Jersey), Ja’Kayla Ramie Davis (Simpsonville, South Carolina), Adrele Mila’ Davis(Simpsonville, South Carolina), Dajore Mikel Davis (Lumberton, New Jersey), Keishar Assante Davis (Mauldin, South Carolina), Aaron Crocker (Mt. Laurel, New Jersey). One great granddaughter (Neveayah Davis). Her sisters Ida Adebogun of Brooklyn, New York, Carrie M. Scott (Floyd) of Manhattan, New York and Mary L. Lewis-Jones of Rochester, New York. Two brothers-in-law, Edward Davis Sr. (Jacqueline) of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Frederick Davis (Jestine) of Hemingway, South Carolina. Four sisters-in- law, Jacquelyn Davis of Florence, South Carolina, Stella Lewis of Newark, New Jersey, Alzada Davis of Malone, Florida, and Mary Nash Davis of Hemingway, South Carolina. Several surrogate children, Joe Wilson (Lillian), Arlene Perry, Lorraine Davis, Carolyn Powell,Derrick Robertson, and NaTasha McGill. Three godchildren Olissa Page, Raheem Perry, and Anthony Curry and several surrogate children; a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and special friends and loved ones.
