Obiturary Of Mr. Spencer Brunson, Jr.

Spencer Brunson Jr., also known as "Joe," was born on Nov. 30, 1952, in Mayesville, to the late Spencer Brunson Sr. and Corine Moses Brunson. He transitioned peacefully from this life on Friday, Aug. 20, 2021, at McLeod Hospice, Florence.

He was educated in the Lee County public school system. He became a member of Unionville AME Church at an early age. He was employed by Sumter Electric and Rewinding, Sumter and Hobgood Electric, Columbia.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his siblings, Dorothy Andrews of Blythewood, Nathaniel Brunson (Geraldine), Georgia Wilson of Bishopville, Mary Saunders (Thomas) Danville, Virginia, Elouise Gardner (Rayburn), Willie Brunson (Gloria) of Bishopville, Diana Smith (Larry), Wallace Brunson (Toyeka) of Florence, Charles Brunson of Cayce, Mattie Chapman (Leo) of Darlington and Edward Williams of Baltimore, Maryland; a goddaughter, Courtney Reed of Sumter; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In accordance with the COVID-19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitation at the home of his brother and sister-in-law, Nathaniel and Geraldine Brunson, 2888 Manville-St. Charles Road, Bishopville.

Graveside services will be held at noon on Wednesday at Unionville AME Churchyard Cemetery, 1330 Swimming Pen Road, Mayesville, with the Rev. Alvin E. Webb, pastor, officiating.

The procession will leave at 11:20 a.m. from the home.
