**Obituary for Tina Bailey**

Mrs. Tina Twiggs Bailey was born on June 3, 1967 in Washington, District of Columbia to Willie A. Twiggs and the late Mary Barton Twiggs. She departed this life on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

Tina attended Florence County Elementary and Middle Schools and South Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina.

She was affiliated with Anointed Word Bible Way Church in Timmonsville, South Carolina under the leadership of Reverend Tommy Milo.

On August 12, 2003, Tina was joined in marriage to Marvin Bailey.

She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Faith Nursing Home in Florence, South Carolina, a Truck Driver, and was currently employed with The Drive In at the time of her demise.

Tina leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Marvin Bailey of Florence, South Carolina; a son, Victor Twiggs of Florence, South Carolina; nine grandchildren, Valayshia, Vontreonna, Quavionna, Michael, A’Aliyah, Ny’Eas, Ty’Asia, Victor, Jr., and Anthony all of Florence, South Carolina; her father, Willie A. Twiggs of Florence, South Carolina; two brothers, Marcus W. (Adrienne) Twiggs of Florence, South Carolina and Marvin (NaTasha) Twiggs of Chattanooga, Tennessee; two aunts, to include a special aunt, Helen Byrd of Bowman, South Carolina; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lafayette Bailey and Harriett Bailey of Florence, South Carolina; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

**Obituary for Annie Mae Mac McMillian**

Annie Mae McMillian, 93, daughter of the late Melvin and Daisy Mack, was born on April 29, 1929 in Lee County. She passed away Friday, August 13, 2021 at Autumn Care of Cornelius, Cornelius, North Carolina. She leaves to mourn her passing: her son, Walter McMillian, Jr.; her daughter, Ruth (Delano) Rankin; one grandson; two great grandsons; a gracious and dear cousin, Mary Ruth Cooke; and a host of other relatives and friends. Celebration of her life services will be held Tuesday, August 24, 2021 -12:00 Noon at Mechanicsville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 184 Lake Ashwood Road, Sumter, with the Rev. Ernest Frierson, pastor, officiating. Long and Son Mortuary Services, 2312 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, North Carolina, will be in charge of these arrangements.

**Obituary for Mary Lee Gillard**

Mary Lee Gillard entered this world chosen of God to become a valuable servant in His garden on February 1, 1923 in Lee County to the proud parents of the late Morgan Williams and Hattie Bradley Williams.

A Time to Grow

Mary was educated in the public schools of Lee County. In her youth she joined the Church of God by Faith Inc. Later in life she joined Christ Temple Holiness Church of Timmonsville, South Carolina.

A Time to Love

Mary was joined in holy matrimony to Jeffell Gillyard. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt and special friend to many. She possessed the ability to love unconditionally and there was always room in her heart to add another loved one to her family. She was preceded in death by: all her brothers and sisters; three daughters, Gertie Mae (Edward) Nelson, Hattie (Willie) Jacobs and Shirley (Freddie) Bines; four sons, Johnny Gilyard, George Gilyard, Ernest Gilyard and Freddie Gilyard.

A Time to Remember

Mary leaves to cherish her loving memories: two daughters, Dorothy Pompey of Timmonsville, South Carolina and Rosa Price of Florence, South Carolina; one daughter-in-law, Peggy Gilyard of Timmonsville, South Carolina; two grandsons she called her sons, Charles Gaillard of Timmonsville, South Carolina and Freddie (Daresa) Gilyard of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Cassie Mae (Skeeters) Gilliard Kelly of Pompano Beach, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great -great grandchildren.

**Obituary for Nathaniel James**

Mr. Nathaniel James was born in Darlington, South Carolina a son of the late Richard James, Sr. and Avenell Pugh James. He entered into his final resting place on Thursday, August 19, 2021 at his residence.

At a young age, Nathaniel joined Flat Creek Baptist Church where he remained a member until his passing.

He received his formal education in the Darlington County Public School System.

Nathaniel spent his life in Darlington County where he worked on the Farm for many years.

He was a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.

Those left to cherish his loving memory are: three sisters: Pastor Annie Lou (Deacon Willie) Williamson, Henrietta J. Alford both of Darlington, SC and Hattie Mae Edwards of New Haven, CT; nieces: Patricia Edwards, Rosa Edwards, Tiffany Bridges, Valerie Bridges, Khadijah James all of Darlington, SC; a special great niece, Erica James of the home; nephews: Preston Bridges, Henry James, Joshua James all of Darlington, SC and Willie Bridges, Jr. of Columbus, GA; a special great nephew, True-Allah Liles of Darlington, SC; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that loved him very much. A special thanks to Deacon Freddie and Liz Littles.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Avenell James; four sisters: Louise Bridges, Rosetta Edwards, Geneva Moses and Evangelist Mary Douglas; two brothers: Richard James and Andrew James.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be at the residence, 2705 Society Hill Road (King Hill Community), Darlington.

**Obituary for Henry Williams**

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. ~Romans 8:2

On August 17, 2021, Henry Williams Jr., 76, exchanged his rugged cross for a glorious crown!

Jimmy, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was born on April 11, 1945 in Marion County to the late Estelle Williams Simmons. He attended the public schools of Florence County and graduated from Carver High School in Lake City, SC. It was during his time at Carver High School that he met and married the love of his life, Margaret Howe. Through this union, they were blessed with three children: Lekeith, Lynnterry, and Nicklas.

Jimmy was employed with the SC Department of Transportation as a highway worker for 38 years before retiring in 2008. While he loved his work at the SCDOT, one of his favorite things to do during his free time was working on cars.

He is preceded in death by one brother, Donald Simmons.

He leaves to cherish fond memories of him, the love of his life, Margaret Howe Williams; his sons: Lekeith (Sharon), Lynnterry, and Nicklas (Theresa); his brother: Ronald Simmons; his grandchildren: Aaron, Tachina, Mikayla, Henry, Randall, and Isaiah; and a host of other family and friends.

**Obituary for Erma Celestine Dorsey**

Life’s Reflections

God looked around his garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth and he saw that you were tired. He put his arms around you on August 18, 2021, and, called you to rest in His beautiful garden.

Erma Celestine Dorsey was born in Kingstree, South Carolina on July 7, 1941, to the late Joe Cooper and Rena McClary McFadden. She was fathered by her stepfather, Harvin McFadden, who she affectionately called “Dad”.

She attended Thomlinson High School and was a 19 graduate. Then ventured to high learning at Hunter College in Manhattan, NY where she earned her Degree in Economics. She was married to the late Tommy Dorsey and from this Union, two children were born, Cynthia and Thomas.

While in NY, she became employed with Jewish Guild for the Blind as a Social Worker for many years until retirement.

Erma was an active and involved member of the Delta Theta Sorority. She genuinely loved people and it showed. She was always inviting others to her home to stay, enjoying her home cooked meals and moments of laughter and conversations. Erma never met a stranger while in her many travels. Erma showed love and was loved. She will be greatly missed!

Left to cherish her memories are a host of nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

Those preceded her in death were, her daughter, Cynthia Dorsey; siblings, Louise Porcher, Harriett Cooper, Charlie Dorsey, Alma Dorsey, Rosalee Dorsey, Eloise Dorsey, Ben Dorsey, and Thomas Dorsey.

Loved ones left to cherish her memories are son, Thomas Dorsey of the home; siblings, Ella Fulton, and Bessie McFadden both of Atlanta, GA, Keith McFadden, Gregory (Joyce), Barbara Irmy all of Kingstree, SC, Debra (Garry) Smith of Detroit MI, Sister-in-law Sadie McFadden’, brother-in-law, Eddie (Dorothy) Dorsey; grandchildren, Crystal and Kolby; great-grandchildren, Levi and Leia; a host of other relatives and friends.
