*Obituary for Gertrude Eagleton*

Gertrude Eagleton was born September 10, 1943, in Florence, SC. She was the daughter of Johnny Eagleton Sr. and Janie Johnson Eagleton.

She departed this life on October 5, 2021. She attended Florence County Schools and graduated from Wilson High School.

She was formerly employed with Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was a member of New Ebenezer Baptist Church and was a member of the Wilson High School Alumni and supporter of Impact Church.

She was preceded in death by Theo (James) Eagleton-Jones,

Left to cherish her precious memories are four brothers, Johnny (Letha) Eagleton of Effingham, SC, Willie Lee Eagleton of Bennettsville, SC, David A Eagleton of Loris, SC, and Frank Eagleton of Florence, SC; one sister, Iris Eagleton of Florence, SC; one sister-in-law, Mary Jones Eagleton of Greenville, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews.

*Obituary for Dereck Daniels*

Mr. Dereck Eldrick Daniels was born on October 28, 1969, in Florence County to Edward F. Daniels and the late Shirley Eaddy Daniels. He departed his life on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina.

He was educated in the public schools of Florence. He was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church in Florence, South Carolina.

He worked at Francis Marion Patriot Place. He was a self-employed painter for a little while in Atlanta, Georgia with his brother, American Home Place in Florence, and Anthony Oliver. He also had numerous other occupations until his health declined.

He was a loving son, brother, father, husband, grandfather and a newly great-grandfather. He also was a dear friend to many. His hobbies were: traveling, cooking, grilling, and fixing cars. He was known by many as Papa, Whispers, Huey, Muttoo.

He leaves to cherish precious memories: his father, Edward (Carreather) Daniels of Florence, South Carolina; two daughters, Shante Chester and Shaunjanique Chester both of Charlotte, North Carolina; four sons, Jeremy Chester of Los Angeles, California, Montrel “Lil Dereck” Ducan of Columbia, South Carolina, KeShawn Ducan of Florence, South Carolina, and Raquan Eaddy of Charlotte, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; four sisters, Betty (Johnny) Perkins of Timmonsville, South Carolina, Glenda Eaddy of Fayetteville, North Carolina, a devoted sister, Frances (Arthur) Sumter, and Klistine Daniels both of Florence, South Carolina; four brothers, Michael (Fredia) Eaddy of Marietta, Georgia, Edward (Mertice) Daniels of Florence, South Carolina, Sammy (Sheila) Daniels of Powder Spring, Georgia, James (Maxine) Daniels of Effingham, South Carolina; one step brother, Gregory Moses of Florence, South Carolina; four adopted brothers, Antionio Hunter, Abraham McKinnon, Wesley Timmons all of Florence, South Carolina, and Les (Sharon) Tanner of Raleigh, North Carolina; ; one adopted sister, Silvia Charles of Florence, South Carolina; eight aunts; seven uncles; sixteen nieces and nephews; and a host of great nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; a special devoted friend, Beverly (Chester) Daniels; a devoted comforting aunt, Polly (James) Sheppard of Summerville, South Carolina, a special niece, Nikki Eaddy Gordon of Arlington, Texas, and a best friend, Danny McLeod.

*Obituary for Mother Williree Dobson*

Mother Williree Dobson, daughter of the late Icy Belle Davis was born in Sumter County on March 27, 1935. She departed her life on Thursday October 7, 2021. Mother Dobson received her formal education at Sumter County public school. She was employed at Asbury Head Start for several years. She also assisted with catering services for Carter’s Catering.

Mother Dobson loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. She was the Mother of the church at Way of Life Church of Jesus Christ in Lamar, South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by: her mother, Icy Belle Davis; husband James Edward Dobson; daughter, Barbara G. Fullard; two sisters, Ezester Lee Davis and Mary Lee Davis.

Those left to cherish her memories are: her children, Bishop Larry (Lille Mae) Dobson of Lamar SC, Deloris D Williams, Edward (Lawanna) Dobson Rancho Cucamonga CA, Pastor Linda (Bishop Charles) Benbow, Horace (Patricia) Dobson Timmonsville SC and Sabrina (Mayor Darrick) Jackson of the home; a son in law Rodney Fullard of Timmonsville SC; a brother in law Donnie Dobson of New Zion SC; a special cousin, Mary Alice Green; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Johnnie (Lil Johnnie) McMillian, Sr., the son of the late Clarence McMillian and Beulah Richardson McMillian, was born on February 21, 1933 in Sumter County. He departed his earthly life on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Sumter Health and Rehab in Sumter. He attended the public schools of Lee County. Lil Johnnie was a member of Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, Woodrow. He did farm work until his health failed. Lil Johnnie loved to fish and being outdoors. Lil Johnnie was married to Mae Jennings McMillian, who proceeded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Johnnie (Jimmy Lou) McMillian, Jr.; two daughters, Dorothy (Samuel) Blanding and Ruby (Joe) Phillips; his grandchildren, Ryan, Leon, Kevin, Lionell, Keirra, Seirra, Andre and Jermaine; one sister, Ida M. Oliver of Brooklyn, N. Y.; three sisters-in-law, Veronica McMillian, Ophelia “Gladys” McMillian and Annie Louise McMillian; fourteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In accordance with the COV19 guidelines, the family is requesting that face masks and social distancing be observed by relatives and friends during visitations at the home of Dorothy Blanding, 2385 Lilbaby Lane, Sumter and Johnnie McMillan, Jr., 4210 Cotton Acres Road, Sumter. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 – 11:00 a. m. at the Colclough Cemetery, Dubose Siding Road, Sumter with the Rev. Dr. R. L. Brown, officiating, assisted by the Rev. James Cabbagestalk.. The procession will leave at 10:30 a. m. from 2385 Lilbaby Lane, Sumter.

Brother Michael Fore was 60 and departed this life Thursday, October 7, 2021, in Dillon County. He was the son of the late Mother Elsie Fore, the brother of Priscilla F. Bethea of the home, Linda Fore of Baltimore, MD, and the late Wallace Fore. Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11 am in the New Mt. Ms. Trameika Sims was born to the late Bernice Sims and Gregory (Caprie) Woodberry on December 25, 1992 in Florence County, South Carolina. She departed this life at the tender age of 29 on Friday, October 1, 2021.

At an early age, Trameika was affiliated with Aimwell Baptist Church in Pamplico, South Carolina.

Trameika attended Florence School District 2 Public Schools in Pamplico, South Carolina.

Trameika was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Sims.

Trameika leaves to cherish her precious memories: her father, Gregory (Caprie) Woodberry; two sisters, Eunida Sims and Keria Chandler; her paternal grandfather, Odell Woodberry; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends

*Obituary for Ruby Mae Hennigan*

Mrs. Ruby Mae Hennigan was born November 5, 1944 in Florence, South Carolina to the late Elijah Hennigan, Jr. and the late Annie Graham Hennigan.

She was the youngest of the three children, in this order, Elijah Hennigan, Legrant Hennigan and Ruby Mae.

On Wednesday, October 6, 2021, God called her to come home with Him, where there are no more doctor appointments, no more pain, and she earned her wings to Heaven.

Ruby formal education began at the Florence County Public Schools System to include Wilson High School.

After living in Florence, South Carolina, she relocated to the Big City of Bridgeport, Connecticut, where she earned a decent living by working hard, until she retired from Lacy Manufacturing Company, as a machine operator.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Hennigan, Jr. and Annie Graham Hennigan; and a daughter, Martha Hennigan.

Ruby leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sons, Rudolph (Sonya) Hennigan and Tyrone Hennigan; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
