November 18, 2021

Pearl Moore receives another deserved honor for a basketball career that has led to her induction in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. One of only three people in the state of South Carolina to achieve this goal. On Monday of this week Moore was honored to have the Wilson High School basketball court named the Pearl Moore Court.

Moore is the leading scorer in college basketball history with 4,061 points, more that any man or woman at the college basketball level. She played her high school basketball at Wilson High School and her college career started at Anderson College in Anderson, South Carolina before transfering to Francis Marion University where she once scored 73 points in a single game. For this honor Moore was joined by both her high school coach and her college coach Sylvia Hatchell. Also joining Moorer was Derrick McQueen and Dr. Eric Robinson, Principal of Wilson High School.
