Obituary for Beatrice Pinkney

Beatrice Pinkney was born on June 18, 1941, in Darlington, SC to the late Adia Lide and Edmond Bailey. Beatrice Pinkney went home to be with the Lord on November 20, 2021.

In the early 1980s moved to New York and later married Robert Pinkney. To this union was blessed with four children; Bernadette Pinkney, Marsha Pinkney, Ronnie Pinkney, and Leroy Pinkney.

Beatrice Pinkney was formerly employed at Glen Cove Hospital as a dietary aide until her retirement. Beatrice Pinkney was a kind, compassionate and caring person who was loved by all. A short tune after retirement she moved to Florence, SC.

Beatrice Pinkney joined Salem Baptist Church in Glen Cove, NY, and served on the usher board, and also belonged to the missionary society as well. Beatrice later joined New Ebenezer Baptist Church when she relocated to Florence, SC.

Beatrice was preceded in death by her sister Virginia Nealy and brother Edmond Bailey Sr.

Beatrice Pinkney leaves to cherish her memories are two daughters Bernadette Pinkney and Marsha Pinkney; two sons Ronnie Pinkney and Leroy Pinkney; four grandchildren Makesha, Ronnasia, Ariyah and Ronique; one sister Louise Seller; four brothers Marion Bailey, James Bailey, Gus Bailey, and Elijah Bailey; two sister-in-law Mae Bailey and Patricia Bailey, and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.

Obituary for Marcola Eaddy

Marcola Cannon Eaddy was born on March 17, 1946, to Robert Lee and Elline (Goodman) Cannon in Florence, South Carolina. She was blessed to take her rest on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Marcola graduated from Wilson Senior High School, Class of 1964 — GOLDEN UNIQUES. She pursued a career in Nursing, obtaining a Baccalaureate of Science in Nursing, and was certified as a Registered Nurse. She enjoyed working at McLeod Regional Medical Center for over 25 years until her retirement. Marcola was also an entrepreneur. She owned and operated Woodard Community Care, providing assisted living to the elderly.

She was a member of the Ephesus Seventh-day Adventist Church in Florence, South Carolina where she served as a clerk, deaconess, and usher. Marcola was a considerate, intelligent, and entrepreneurial woman who will be richly missed by her sons, brothers and sisters, and grandchild.

Marcola is preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law Harry Brown, Jr.

She leaves cherished memories to her beloved sons, Wallace R. Eaddy and Shawn Eaddy (Samantha); the father of her sons, Wallace R. Eaddy, Sr.; Grandson, Kelvin M. Howard; sisters and brothers, Dorothy Brown, Elline Cannon, Robert Cannon, Calvin Cannon, and Anthony Cannon; and a host of relatives and friends. A special thanks to her caregiver Marie Lity of Florence, SC.

Obituary for Peggy Moses

Mrs. Peggy Ann Dunham Moses, the daughter of the late Mr. James Preston Dunham, Sr. and the late Mrs. Jessie Mae Jakes Dunham, was born April 30, 1958 in Florence, South Carolina. Mrs. Moses past on Thursday, November 25, 2021 in Florence, South Carolina.

Peggy graduated from South Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina, and later attended Florence-Darlington Technical College.

She was preceded in glory by her parents; and three brothers, James Preston Dunham, Jesse Pete Dunham, and Tony Dunham.

Mrs. Moses is survived by two daughters, Michelle Blassingame and Chiquita L. Moses-Johnson (Leander D. Johnson); two granddaughters, Ahyaana Walker and Amali E. Moses-Johnson; one great granddaughter, Madison Walker; three sisters, Rosetta M. (Mark) Spears, Linda D. (Michael) Thomas, and Jessie L. (Thomas) James; three brothers, Charlie M. (Bessie) Dunham, Charles M. (Elizabeth Ann) Dunham, and Tracy S. (Donna) Dunham; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.

Obituary for Betty Hennigan

Mrs. Betty Law Hennigan was born August 16, 1937, in Florence, South Carolina to the late Joseph Law Sr. and Curley Taylor Law. She departed this life on November 21, 2021, to enter into her final resting place.

Mrs. Betty Law Hennigan received her high school education in Florence County; a 1954 graduate of Wilson High School in Florence, South Carolina where she was instrumental in pioneering the Wilson High School Alumni Association. Mrs. Betty Law Hennigan received her Bachelor of Arts in Education from Paine College in Augusta, Georgia and later received her Master of Education in Mathematics from Francis Marion College in Florence, South Carolina. Mrs. Betty Law Hennigan was a life-long educator. She began her 33-year teaching career at Johnson Middle School in Timmonsville, South Carolina and later transferred to Timmonsville High School. Her teaching career started and ended with her 2nd Family, Florence School District Four. She was an exceptional educator, a member of the National Education Association and was loved by all of her students. She was an excellent storyteller and public speaker, incorporating jokes into her storytelling just to make people laugh. She was known as the “life of the party” to all who were graced by her presence. Betty was also a prolific writer, creating original introductions and expressions when asked to speak.

Mrs. Betty Law Hennigan was among the first Inductees into the Wilson High School Hall of Fame. She came out of retirement to join the Florence School District One Alternative School Faculty, and was also a part-time employee of Pee Dee Express Tax Service and a member of the Gospel and Chancel Choirs of Trinity Baptist Church. She was outstanding member in the church and community and the Matriarch of the Law Family!

At an early age, Mrs. Betty Law Hennigan accepted Christ as her Lord and personal Savior and joined Trinity Baptist Church. She loved to sing, but was ecstatic to hear her nephew, Rev. Terry Law, sing, play the piano and preach the word of God.

Mrs. Betty Law was joined in holy matrimony to the late Monroe Hennigan on January 13, 1962, and to this union, a loving devoted son, Donzell D. Hennigan, was born; the sole caregiver of Mrs. Betty Law Hennigan until her demise.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Betty Law Hennigan was preceded in death by two brothers: Walter Law and Joseph Law Jr. and two sisters: Deloris Ann Law Reyes and Jacqueline Law James.

Her loving memories will remain cherished by her son, Donzell D. Hennigan and nephew (raised as her son), Tyrone Law (both of Florence, SC.); sister-in-law, Shirley Law (Florence, SC), brothers-in-law, Joseph Reyes and Samuel James (Columbia, SC), Chester Hennigan, Rudolph (Roseann) Hennigan and Kenneth Hennigan (all of Florence, SC.); a special sister, Deloris Wilson Cannon (Florence, SC) and Goddaughter, Sarah Hamlin. Four grandchildren: Brandon Scott (Alexandria, VA), Donzell Hennigan (Atlanta, GA), Dominic Wilson (Florence, SC) and Aalliyah Grogan (Roswell, GA). Blessed with additional grandchildren: LaMontae, Shaina, Kristine, Kenneth, Chernako, Rahneik, and Londyn Ski.: eight great grands, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Obituary for Alphonso Ollis Crawford

Brother Alphonso Ollis Crawford was 76 and departed this life Saturday November 20, 2021 in Horry County. He was the father of Yniques Brown and Vanessa Wilson. You may visit the family 1308 Whitehall St. Marion. CDC guidelines will be followed, mask is required.

Funeral services were held at the Florence National Cemetery on Monday November 29, 2021 at 1:00 pm.

Alphonso Crawford was born on July 22, 1945, to the late Clifton and Minnie Nelson Crawford. He departed this early life on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

He served his country as a Vietnam Veteran and was honorably discharged in 1971. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and later furthered his education and pursued a Master of Science in Education. He retired from a career in Public Broadcasting.

In 1969 he joined into holy matrimony to Addie Bell Rhodes, and she proceeds him in death.

He leaves fond and cherish memories to his son Ynigues (Marquita) Brown and daughter Vanessa (Cedric) Wilson both of Marion, SC. One sister Daisy Mae Crawford of Myrtle Beach, SC. 2 brothers that proceeds him in death: Kenry Allen Crawford and James Troy (JT) Crawford. Eight grandchildren: Shalice, Jada, Kayla, Zhenique, Dionte, Callique, Ynigues II, and Chayce. two great grandchildren: Karsyn, and Kennedy
